OFFICIAL STANCE OF =v4v=™ on MW2
This is definately a "must wait for patch" title and I WOULD not pre-order or purchase on day one.....BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Any member who decides to purchase the game, please realize that historically, any FPS without dedicated server support hasn't had multiplayer survive for very long.
That said, also realize that it is difficult as a clan that has ran our own servers for nearly 12 years to support a game without dedicated server support. Many members have already canceled their pre-orders in disappointment. So please, if you do decide to purchase the game, do not do so with the expectation that a large number of =v4v=™ players will NOT be playing it.

EA to discontinue Online Pass program thanks to consumer feedback

It’s safe to say that Online Passes are unanimously despised. Designed to stymy the value of secondhand games, the uptake of the initiative by major publishers has been met with scorn by consumers. So much so that EA will discontinue the program for all forthcoming titles, according to EA senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg.
In a note to GamesBeat, Reseburg confirmed the program will be scrapped, admitting that negative user feedback is to thank for the move. “Yes we’re discontinuing Online Pass,” he wrote. “None of our new EA titles will include that feature.
“Initially launched as an effort to package a full menu of online content and services, many players didn’t respond to the format,” Reseburg continued. “We’ve listened to the feedback and decided to do away with it moving forward.”
Nimoy vs Nimoy
A new ad from Audi pits classic Spock against new Spock, capitalizing on the hype surrounding “Star Trek Into Darkness,” which opens in theaters May 16.
The car commercial features Leonard Nimoy, who played the pointy-eared Vulcan for two decades in the original series as well as in half a dozen movies (not including his 2009 cameo in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek”), and newcomer Zachary Quinto, who took the reins in the reboot.
In the ad (watch it above), Nimoy schools Quinto on a game of chess, and Quinto challenges the victor to a round of golf and a race to the country club.

Battlefield under attack
The current BF3 and Battlelog outages are a result of activity that appears to be aimed at overwhelming our game servers. We will provide up to date information on our official channels, including the Battlefield Twitter account. Thanks for your patience! (from battlelog announcement)
-haven't seen any activity yet from my security sources, probably barbecue they are busy in mitigating or investigating whose behind it. (Starjax)
about 1:30pm cst:
From Battlelog: The current BF3 and Battlelog outages are a result of activity that appears to be aimed at overwhelming our back-end infrastructure
From Twitter: We will be restarting all Battlefield servers shortly. Multiplayer may be unavailable for up to 20 minutes on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC
4:00pm cst
Despite our security measures, we have been working around the clock to mitigate the impact of an ongoing denial-of-service attack on our Battlefield 3 game infrastructure over the last several days. While the motives are unclear, the focus of the attack has been interference with network communications preventing access to multiplayer gameplay. At this point, no user data is involved. We share your frustration about the impact this has had to our service and the ability for many of you to play Battlefield 3. We are working tirelessly to mitigate the problem. As a part of our efforts to resolve these issues, we’ve conducted rolling restarts of Battlefield infrastructure servers to apply some updates. Thank you for your patience and support while we work to get everyone back and playing Battlefield 3 as soon as possible. More updates to come. /DICE Team
EA becomes exclusive publisher of Star Wars Games
DICE and Visceral developing new Star Wars games, EA becomes exclusive publisher of license
Months after acquiring Lucasfilm, Disney shuttered its games division, LucasArts. Since then, fans have wondered: what will happen to Star Wars games? Surprisingly, they won't be published by Disney Interactive. Instead, Electronic Arts has announced a "multi-year exclusive licensing agreement to develop and publish globally new games based on Star Wars characters and storylines."
According to the press release, "EA will develop and publish new Star Wars titles for a core gaming audience, spanning all interactive platforms and the most popular game genres, while Disney will retain certain rights to develop new titles within the mobile, social, tablet and online game categories." These social games could be extensions of the unannounced games that LucasArts was working on before its closure.
This isn't EA's first foray with the Star Wars franchise, of course. It launched Star Wars: The Old Republic--an ambitious MMORPG that later had to go free-to-play as subscriber numbers dwindled.
Wolfenstein: The New Order coming this year
Were it not for id Software's seminal Wolfenstein 3D, who knows how we'd be shooting men in the face today? Publisher Bethesda Softworks today announced a "reimagining" of the Nazi-busting FPS in Wolfenstein: The New Order, developed by MachineGames. This is the first game from the studio founded by Starbreeze veterans, which Bethesda owner ZeniMax snapped up in 2010.
The New Order is set in an alternate 1960, where the Nazis won World War 2. Our hero B.J. Blazkowicz will once again be shooting men (and Nazi robots) to save us all.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is headed to PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and unspecified next-gen consoles (presumably PlayStation 4 and the Next Xbox), slated to launch between October and December--the fourth quarter--of this year.
